Not all whisky has a secondary market. As a general rule of thumb, most single malts have a secondary market and have the potential for high value.

There are 5 main factors that impact the value of your whisky:

1. Brand name – not all brands are as collectible as others. Household names like Macallan or Remy Martin tend to be more collectible as they appeal to a wider audience.
2. Age or Vintage Statement – stated on the label of the bottle, this indicates how many years the spirit has spent maturing in cask. The age is not always specified with producers choosing to state the distillation year, age statement or both.
3. ABV – bottles with higher ABV tend to attract the most interest from buyers with cask strength spirits being more sought after than lower ABV releases.
4. Bottler – spirits can either be released by the producer or an independent bottle under their own label.
5. Special/Limited Edition – a release that is not part of the brand’s core range. These can be from a themed release over several thousand bottles or from a small amount of bottles from a single cask.

We do our best to get back to all valuations within 48 hours but larger collections can take longer. Providing correct details and clear photos of the bottles and/or boxes can help to speed up the timeline.

We typically propose a direct cash offer to promptly purchase your whiskies for stock. However, if we determine that a broking strategy could enhance your sale price, we’ll suggest this path.

For offers over £200, we take care of all the logistics at our cost. Whether this means sending protective packaging and prepaid return labels with DHL or using our specialist hand-courier, our logistics team will send you detailed instructions of how best to proceed. Unlike auction houses, where you are likely to be paid within 30 days of the auction ending, we make payment within 48 hours of your bottles arriving at our North London cellar, via bank transfer.

Same day payment is available for clients who pre-book to deliver the goods to our cellar.
